Pat Sajak appears to be ready for his last spin on Wheel of Fortune.

Sajak, 75, said that in many TV shows, people would have thought it’s time to end, but this show will keep going.

Wheel of Fortune started in 1975, and Sajak joined in 1981. Throughout his forty years on the show, Sajak and co-host Vanna White, who is 65 years old, have become the iconic hosts of the series.

The emcee expressed his anticipation for the future, mentioning that he might leave before the show begins.

Sajak expressed gratitude for being part of people’s homes for a long time. He mentioned feeling happy and proud of the warm welcome they received. He also enjoys joking around with celebrities on the show’s spin-off, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

Sajak admitted that time flies by quickly. He mentioned that they are approaching the end and that they won’t continue for another 40 years.

Sajak celebrated his 40-year hosting anniversary in December with a tribute from his daughter, Maggie. “Happy 40th Wheel-iversary to this guy!” she tweeted alongside a throwback of her father hosting the series. “On this day in 1981, @patsajak hosted his very first episode of @WheelofFortune… and the rest is history!”

The dedicated host temporarily left the series once to have surgery for a blocked intestine, which allowed White to take over as the host.
