At the age of 36, he decided to start studying Law since he has always been interested in a said career, but his economic situation did not allow him to study without first having a job. From a very young age, he works as a driver. At 21, he went to live in Spain with his wife and began driving trucks in 2003. They had their first daughter in Barcelona but decided to return to their native country to be close to family.

In 2014, Juan Pablo decided to start studying since his job as a driver allowed him time and finances. He managed to graduate as a lawyer at the age of 42 as a bus driver, and despite already having a professional career and practising it, he has not left his job as a driver.
