As the Butler family peacefully slept, their Florida home suddenly caught alight. The fire alarm only sounded briefly before ceasing, thus not managing to alert the family. Fortunately, their Jack Russell Terrier, Zippy, was quick to recognise the perilous situation and ran around the house, barking noisily in order to wake them up.

Leroy Butler, the homeowner, was shocked to discover that Zippy, the hero dog, was still inside the blazing house. Despite the raging inferno, Zippy had managed to rouse the family members, allowing them to escape the fire unscathed. Yet, the faithful canine had not made it out of the burning building.

Recently a brave canine named Zippy heroically saved his entire family from a destructive house fire.

Leroy rushed to his house when he heard about the fire, hoping to rescue his beloved family dog, Zippy. Unfortunately, when he got there, the house was already in flames and he could only stand by helplessly as the firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Sadly, when Leroy was finally able to enter the house, he discovered that Zippy had already succumbed to the smoke.

Butler recounted in an interview with Fox News that the living room floor had been engulfed in flames, leaving the small dog with no escape route. “He was a short little dog. There was nowhere for him to go,” he said.

The cause of the fire, which began in the attic of the house according to firefighters, is still undetermined.

Butler expressed in an interview with Bay News 9 that they adopted a Jack Russell Terrier, which was black and white in color, 3-4 years ago. The dog became an important part of the family and Butler said they will miss their beloved pet. He further added that the dog did its job, for which they had rescued it, and the little hero returned the favor.
