The Crystal Grotto has artificial stalactites.

Painshill Park was created in 1738 by an Irish aristocrat called Charles Hamilton in Surrey, England. He was inspired by European art when making his park, which features unusual structures, Renaissance style buildings and an incredible crystal grotto.

The Crystal Grotto is made of bricks and has artificial stalactites on its walls.

A bridge crosses the water dividing the grotto in half. The entrance to the grotto is hidden among the rocks. The structure is made of brick and covered in limestone bits (very small rocks stuck together by lime mud). The walls are made of gypsum, calcite, quartz, fluorite, and other minerals. The man-made stalactites, which glisten in the daylight, create a magical feeling in the cave.
