Sexy, wounded war veterans embrace their unique beauty and showcase it on the runway as hot models.

Michael Stokes, a California-based fine arts photographer, takes a daring new approach to veteran portrait photography. He captures stunning and provocative photos of proud veterans showcasing their amputated body parts and prosthetics.

Alex Minsky, a U.S. Marine whose leg was amputated after a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in 2009, set the tone for an inspiring and courageous photoshoot. His actions encouraged other veterans to join in, resulting in the book “Always Loyal” by Stokes.

Stokes remarked to MTV that some people tell him, “This is really helpful to their self-esteem” or “You’re making them feel like men again.” However, he insists that these men come to him already healed and brimming with confidence, and that it is not his responsibility to give them back their self-esteem.

“I’m not restoring their confidence – they already possess it.”
