Mia Robertson can’t hold back her tears: “We will all miss him so much…

Mia Robertson, the littlest daughter of Jase and Missy Robertson from Duck Dynasty, was born with a condition called cleft lip and palate. This condition causes a gap in the upper lip, which can also affect the gum.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that approximately 1 in 1,600 babies in the U.S. are born with a cleft lip and palate.

Due to her condition, Mia, a kind girl who is 18 years old, had to have 13 surgeries. The 14th surgery happened recently. Her family is really hoping that this will be the final surgery Mia needs to fix her issue.

During each surgery, the young girl stays optimistic. Additionally, she aims to inspire other kids with the same condition. With her family’s support, Mia created the Mia Moo Fund to ensure every child has a reason to smile.

Missy Robertson, in an interview with Christian Post, mentioned that the Mia Moo Fund has two main purposes. Firstly, it aims to raise awareness about the cleft lip and palate journey. Secondly, it provides financial assistance to parents and families in America who require medical funds.

On his podcast Unashamed, Jase Robertson shared an update on Mia’s condition and said that his daughter is recovering well.

He said she’s doing well and has made progress. He also mentioned that everything appears to be going well.

The surgery took longer than planned, but she’s back home and getting better. We appreciate your prayers for her and our family. She’s a fighter!

Missy discussed her daughter’s condition before the surgery and mentioned that she had been frequently asked about the future procedures Mia would have to go through. Missy stated that there is always uncertainty regarding the number of procedures Mia would need. She also mentioned that they depend on God for help. Missy wrote that now that Mia is 18, she is taking charge of the discussions and medical paperwork, which feels a bit unusual. However, it serves as a reminder for Missy to rely on the Lord and accept that she is not in control.

Mia is also looking forward to reaching the end of the race.

Mia, with courage, expressed her hope that this would be the final encounter with her doctors in this environment. She acknowledged the lengthy journey they had been through and emphasized that they were now approaching the end.

The Robertson family is getting ready to welcome a new member into their home, showing love and compassion to a child in need whose mother couldn’t care for them.

We send our wishes for Mia’s fast healing.
