Shelter dogs all hope to find a home, but some are overlooked repeatedly and start to lose hope of being adopted.

A heart-wrenching viral picture revealed the devastation of a 3-year-old shelter dog who was not adopted once again. However, amidst it all, there remains a glimmer of hope for this solitary canine.

Rocky, a 3-year-old pit bull, has been under the care of Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester since October 2022. His family was evicted from their home and could no longer take care of him, as reported by Newsweek.

Rocky has been adopted twice but unfortunately returned to the shelter both times, even after a few two-week trial periods. Despite these brief moments of hope, Rocky always finds himself back where he began.

Rocky, the dog, came back in September but hasn’t had any success since then. He’s a wonderful dog, but he would flourish in a specific kind of home that might be harder to find. Lindsay Brewer, a communications specialist, mentioned to Newsweek that Rocky would be happiest as the sole dog in a home with only adults.

Rocky is finally starting to feel the impact of rejection and setbacks after over a year, shown by a sad photo shared by the shelter recently.

Rocky is alone in his kennel, with his head hanging down as if he’s devastated after being ignored once again.
