His motivation for creating this invention stemmed from his father, who was experiencing symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. He noticed that his father would frequently forget basic things, such as wearing his pants.
With the desire to ensure his father’s safety at all times, he began working in the healthcare field. His motivation was driven by the goal of creating solutions and innovations that could contribute to the well-being and security of individuals, like his dad, in need of care.
The inclusion of the two-way communicator in the shoe invention enabled him to communicate with his dad even when they were apart. This feature provided reassurance, as he no longer had to worry about his dad engaging in potentially dangerous activities. Additionally, the GPS functionality allowed him to track his father’s real-time location, ensuring that he would never go missing.
Due to a job offer that arose, he made the decision to quit school and missed approximately 2 to 3 weeks of classes. However, during that time, he impressively developed a computer program within just four weeks. He was paid $80,000 for his work, which served as the starting point for him to invest in his own telecom company called Figgers Communication.
By the age of 24, Figgers had already designed and constructed an impressive 80 custom software programs.
